Boston, MA
Where To Stay: The Verb Hotel
This hotel is so cool! It’s a boutique, music-themed hotel that’s located across the street from Fenway Park. We absolutely loved staying there.
Favorite Spot In Town:
Newbury Street - A perfect day activity is to window shop your way down Newbury Street! Start at Trident Booksellers and Cafe for breakfast and some literary perusal and then head down the street in the direction of Boston Common. Then, grab a bite to enjoy in the park while you watch the two resident swans (named Romeo and Juliet) swim around in the lagoon.
Brooklyn, NY
Where To Stay: The One Boutique Hotel or The Box House Hotel
The One Boutique Hotel is a super classy spot with gorgeous rooms. It’s located in Queens but it’s a short walk to the subway making it easy to get around. The Box House Hotel is in a fantastic location, has great amenities, and the rooms are so cozy and cute (no typical, stuffy “hotel” interior decor here!).
Favorite Spot In Town:
Dumbo & The Brooklyn Bridge - Ok, there are almost too many amazing spots in Brooklyn to list, but one of our favorite activities is to go to dinner in Dumbo to enjoy the sunset over the water (try Celestine or Cecconi’s) then walk over the Brooklyn Bridge as the city’s lights are coming on. Then if you’re still hungry, you can walk right up to Chinatown for some late-night dumplings!
Portland, OR
Where To Stay: Moxy Portland Downtown
If you’re going to go with a chain hotel, the Moxy (owned by Marriot) is one of our favorites. They have locations across the country and we absolutely loved our stay at the Portland location. It has a very cool interior design, a great bar, and a lovely staff. We can’t recommend it enough!
Favorite Spot In Town:
Food Carts - Portland is known for its abundance of delicious food carts, and there’s a bunch of "pods” where you can find unique and tasty bites on the good. Here’s a map of where you can find them!
Hollywood, LA
Where To Stay: Sunset Marquis
This place is so gorgeous. The outdoor pool is absolutely lovely and amenities like the outdoor bar, cabana loungers, and music room make it feel more like a resort than a hotel.
Austin, TX
Where To Stay: The LINE
Super ideally located, stunning pool, gorgeous interior design, what else can we say! We adored our stay here and definitely recommend it.
Asbury Park, NJ
Where To Stay: The LINE
The rooftop bar and lounge here is hard to beat. Plus, this hotel has it’s own bowling alley! If you’re looking for a super fun and unique stay, this spot is perfect.
Minneapolis, MN
Where To Stay: Loews Minneapolis Hotel
This hotel is exactly what you want in a place to stay–ideally located, well-designed, full of amenities, and more! We’re in Minneapolis all the time and this spot is a definite go-to.
Favorite Spot In Town:
Dinner & A Show - Get dinner at Owamni, an incredible restaurant that features authentic indigenous foods, and then walk along the water to the world-famous Guthrie Theater to see a show!
Wantagh, NY
Where To Stay: The Vanderbilt Hotel Suites
The Vanderbilt Hotel is a lovely place with massive rooms and a great attached restaurant.
Favorite Spot In Town:
Jones Beach - This is easily the prettiest beach in the New York City area and much quieter than the beaches closer to Manhattan!
Santa Cruz, CA
Where To Stay: Hotel Paradox
The outdoor area of this hotel is really lovely! The rooms are very nice and clean, the staff is friendly, and we very much enjoyed our stay here.
Favorite Spot In Town:
Abbott Square Market - This is such a fun spot in Santa Cruz to visit and explore. There are a ton of super unique (and delicious) food vendors and the market hosts regular events and live music.
